Based on 127 reviewsGemina Coffee Shop in New York’s East Village is widely praised for its cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both relaxation and work. Customers appreciate the friendly and attentive staff, alongside a well-crafted coffee menu featuring quality beans, notably from La Colombe. Some patrons highlight the thoughtful details like a loyalty program and comfortable seating options indoors and outdoors. While most feedback is positive, there are occasional notes on drink temperature preferences. Overall, Gemina is recognized as a charming neighborhood café with exceptional beverages and a warm, welcoming vibe.
New (at the time of this writing) coffee shop in the area. Beans are from La Colombe and the brew was good - but the water used to make the Americano was very hot so watch out if you aim to drink it immediately. The Portuguese egg tarts were excellent and not overly sugary. 2024.01.21
The atmosphere is really cozy. It’s really suitable to study, chat with your friends and relax. Baristas are really friendly and kind. They also have a loyalty card that you get a free drink after you get 10! And my favorite is their summer collection, I tried all of them and couldn’t decide my favorite! Also their Nata is great if you are looking something sweet and pesto mozzarella sandwich if you are looking for something more.
I don’t really write reviews for places but this place is amazing ! I absolutely love this place! The coffee is amazing, croissants a plus and the staff are so kind and friendly. Plus, one of the guys is a Blackpink fan, which is a fun bonus!
I am super excited about this new place. It looks really good. It makes 14th street look better. I had a drip coffee and an espresso. It was decent but I dont know if I ordered the “La Colombe” drip. The place has tables inside and outside. I love the feel of coffee shop. The place smelled like vanilla cake. It looks like a good place. I will come back to try some pastries.
BEST SPOTTTT EVERR!! Here everyday because I work on the block but best lattes, workers r so sweet, bathroom is super nice and it’s a great place to do work or grab a quick drink
Cozy coffee shop with two tables out front and tables and chairs stuffed in the back. Marie passage for the counter to order from. SO old school East Village. If you are a tourist looking for authentic NYC? Go here. I had the Gluten free tort, delicious with a hint of lemon. But the true sign of excellence? The heart underneath the lid of my latte. Happy discovery!
Gemina is a Turkish family-owned coffee shop, conveniently located in East Village. The space is small but cozy, and I highly recommend sitting at their outdoor tables on cool days. The baristas are very welcoming and knowledgeable. We had a great chat with them about coffee and Istanbul. Apart from coffee and pastries, Gemina serves breakfast food like bagels and croissant sandwiches. I always prefer buying coffee from small local cafes. Check them out if you're in the area and support small businesses. *Salmon Cream Cheese Bagel While I have high bar on bagels, their lox bagel didn't disappoint. It has a crispy crust and pillowy dough. The smoked salmon, tomato and plain cream cheese complement well with one another. The portion size is just right for breakfast. *Grilled Cheese Grilled Cheese looks plain but very tasty. We loved the cheese and the crispy sourdough. *Pastel de Nata Make sure to grab their signature pastel de nata!! The egg custard is jiggly and creamy with a nice blistered top and flaky crust. It is very sweet and filled with rich eggy flavor. *Orange Espresso This summer special coffee is layered with orange juice and double shots of espresso. A combo that I never thought it would work well! It is a less sweet drink compared to other special coffee on their menu. They also emphasize they don't pour too much ice to keep the balanced flavor. *Frozen Pineapple Lemonade Refreshing drink for non coffee drinkers. It tastes healthy and not too sweet, which you can tell they don't add extra syrup or sweetener to the slush. It also comes in a larger cup!
It's a very cozy and quiet place. I wanted to buy coffee, and I saw that there was an opportunity to sit inside, which made me happy. The staff is friendly. I highly recommend the matcha and egg tart (pastel de nata) :3
